Per the instructions, I enter the username "admin" and password "admin," and the message I get is "Login Failure: Invalid Username or Password." Any ideas on where to start with a username and password for admin use?Įdit: I have restarted the NAS, but that has not helped.Įdit 2: I have completed an "Advanced System Reset" with the hope I could start from scratch, but this has also not helped. *The default username and password is admin/admin. For more details on using Qfinder, please see the tutorial. The step by step process provided by QNAP online states:Īfter completing the installation process (or if your device has pre-installed firmware) you can connect to the NAS using Qfinder. I've been able to install the hardware, latest firmware and format the drives, but cannot get the Qfinder running because I don't have an admin username and password - I haven't established this because at no point during the set up so far has there been a request to provide a username and password for the admin account. I feel like I am a little lost at this point - I follow you that I need an admin account rather than the QID on the NAS web interface, but I am stuck. Why can I log in online per the set-up instructions with no issues and when I try through Qfinder, it says " Incorrect Username or Password?" Please help! I want to complete this install instead of return the unit. I ran across some statements about the default "admin" username, but that doesn't help me if I've set up my account.ĭisks: WD 2TB Reds were read and formatted with no issues I read the QNAP manual and have searched for a few hours since then, on this forum as well as Googling away elsewhere, but I cannot figure out why I cannot login to Qfinder. The response: " Incorrect Username or Password." So, now I am stuck, after about 30 minutes into installation. In internet or network address block type the name of your NAS that you use to connect to it. Click on Credential Manager, should be at the top of the list. I enter the very same login info I used to set up the web based myQNAPcloud site and hit enter. Click on the start icon - type credential. I hope you know what I am about to write, because that would make this sooo easy. So, I install the Qfinder program, launch it and it locates my unit. At this point I wonder to myself, where is the desktop dashboard I need to operate this NAS? I Google some more and it seems as if it is the Qfinder program. This statement gives absolutely no clues on how to install the QNAP centric ".qpkg" file type, so after some Googling, I see that I need to install the Qfinder utility. I go online and login to myQNAPcloud and the infamous "Please install the CloudLink QPKG" statement comes up when I try to get to the next step of install. Installed the hardware, installed the firmware, clicked "Cloud Installation" and entered the appropriate Cloud Key and go through the account set-up process. I went through the set-up scenario as prescribed by QNAP. I read tons of reviews about how easy this unit is to set up and I agree, up to the point I got stuck. Hi All, I am new to the forum - just received the TS-231 today.
